Born in Kayseri in 1975, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Ünlü graduated from Gülhane Military Medical Academy in 1998. He began his professional career in 1998 and served as a general practitioner at the 2nd Army Transportation Regiment Infirmary in Malatya between 1998 and 2001.

- He began his residency in the Department of Cardiology at Ankara Gülhane Military Medical Academy in 2001 and received his Cardiology Specialist title in 2005.
- Dr. Ünlü started his duty as a specialist physician at Diyarbakır Military Hospital in 2005 and was appointed to Ankara Beytepe Military Hospital in 2009.
- He received the title of Associate Professor in 2013 and began working as a faculty member in the Department of Cardiology at Ankara Gülhane Military Medical Academy in the same year.
- In 2014, he received advanced training in electrophysiological studies, ablation (Conventional, Cryo, 3D Complex Mapping), and Pacemaker (ICD/CRT) at the Electrophysiology Laboratory of Ankara Yüksek İhtisas Training and Research Hospital.
